GLASS CEILING BENEATH THE STARS

1992. Hurricanes in Hawaii, riots in LA, the longest-running game of tennis at the US Open and NASA launches the Endeavour STS-47.

Onboard are two women set to change history. Mae Jemison, the first African American woman to go to space, and Jan Davis, the first woman to go to space with her husband. Back on Earth everyone had one question: did the couple have sex in space?

Five performers and three cameras investigate sexism at NASA, racial politics in the US and our fascination with the sex lives of others.

Sugar and spice and everything nice,

Is that what girls are made of?

Not if you ask Abigail!

Mustard Doesn’t Go With Girls is an inclusive feminist musical for the modern child. Join us in the surreal town of Bow-on-Tie, a town deeply rooted in tradition and run by the dubious mayor Croque Madame (or is it Croc?!). When the children start mysteriously disappearing, eight-year-old Abigail decides to investigate further, embarking on an adventure where social norms are questioned and the town’s secrets are uncovered. Will Abigail and the rebel children be able to prevent their horrific fate, and by doing so change the town’s divide of boys and girls?

Using an original score, slick movement and strong characters this production seeks to poke fun at fairytales from the past whilst creating new storylines for the young generation of today. Join Abigail on her journey towards being heard in a society that is stuck in the past. The show is empowering for both children and grown-ups, of whatever gender, showing that you can be anyone and anything you want to be.

During lockdown we launched our KID'S LAB page where we made lots of fun videos, activities and super secret content to keep your little ones entertained.

Ash

★★★★★ Fringe Guru ★★★★ A Younger Theatre

★★★★ The Stage ★★★★ The List

★★★★ Broadway Baby

Based on a true story, Ash explores the life of George Crozier and his journey from his first to his last cigarette. Set against a backdrop of the tobacco industry’s ever-changing advertisements, this “witty and inventive” show (****The Stage) uses object manipulation, movement and live music to explore the highs and lows of a life-long love affair with smoking.

Up until the last puff, it’s an addictive story of a Yorkshire community that aren’t planning to quit anytime soon. This is the first production from international Lecoq company Bric à Brac, an ensemble who are "committed and clearly talented, projecting effortless charm and admirable timing…in this startling show.” **** The List.
